I know most of you are probably reading the host for the book club read, but I like to have lighter reads for the summer time. You know, the reads you sprawl out on a towel in front of the ocean and enjoy! I have already enjoyed some of these, but I am still looking forward to most!
Hello All!! I know most of you are probably reading the host for the book club read, but I like to have lighter reads for the summer time. You know, the reads you sprawl out on a towel in front of the ocean and enjoy! I have already enjoyed some of these, but I am still looking forward to most! Commencement by J. Courtney Sullivan Assigned to the same dorm their first year at Smith College, Celia, Bree, Sally, and April couldn’t have less in common. This story of four women's journey through life lesson, heartbreak and more touches the heart of all women, young and old. Cannot wait to read this one! Bloodlines by Richelle Mead From the author of the Vampire Academy series (coming to theaters soon) comes this new series, Bloodlines. Richelle Mead is one of my favorite paranormal romance writers, and I look forward to being swept away by this book. Jill Dragomir - the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir - is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill's guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty - a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning. Sisterland by Curtis Sittenfeld From an early age, Kate and her identical twin sister, Violet, knew that they were unlike everyone else. Kate and Vi were born with peculiar “senses”—innate psychic abilities concerning future events and other people’s secrets. Though Vi embraced her visions, Kate did her best to hide them. Now, years later, their different paths have led them both back to their hometown of St. Louis. This story is the hauntingly thought-provoking story of loyalty love, and belief. Reading this soon!! The Wednesday Sister by Meg Waite Clayton Friendship, loyalty, and love lie at the heart of Meg Waite Clayton’s beautifully written, poignant, and sweeping novel of five women who, over the course of four decades, come to redefine what it means to be family. This is another great story of friendship through hard times. If you have never been introduced to Robert Langdon, it is never too late to fall in love! The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman After four harrowing years on the Western Front, Tom Sherbourne returns to Australia and takes a job as the lighthouse keeper on Janus Rock, nearly half a day’s journey from the coast. To this isolated island, where the supply boat comes once a season and shore leaves are granted every other year at best, Tom brings a young, bold, and loving wife, Isabel. Years later, after two miscarriages and one stillbirth, the grieving Isabel hears a baby’s cries on the wind. A boat has washed up onshore carrying a dead man and a living baby. This beautifully written novel is a GoodReads Choice 2012 Winner, and a thought-provoking novel of right and wrong. Yes, I believe this is a great vacation read! The Last Original Wife by Dorothea Benton Frank Leslie Anne Greene Carter is the last original wife among her husband's group of cronies. They've all traded in their first wives-the middle-aged women they long ago promised to love and cherish 'til death did them part-for riper peaches: younger . . . blonder . . . more enhanced models.
